1. Placement of the stainless steel supports prior to the pouring of the cement.

3. The instrument is complete and has twelve bamboo organ pipes, 3mtr. long, with altogether 127 sound holes, positioned in a spiral around the tubes, so that no matter the direction of the wind, there are always a few notes to be heard.

2. The finished foundation. Dimensions of the oval are 2mtrs by 1mtr; stainless steel tubes ˝mtr. The surface is of small pieces of white Carrara marble.
The Instrument is placed in a private garden of a building of the Orion Society in Capelle a. d. IJssel.
(a little town near Rotterdam)

This piece marks a new direction for Robert, as this was the first time he had carved the likeness of any real creature of land, sea or sky - now he has a taste for it, we hope to be seeing more new "creature" pieces in the future...?

The dolphin is of red cedar, the frame is twisted willow (painted black enamel) with beech end pieces.
The hammered sheet tail vane and tubular bow are aluminium. Thanks to Ron Dell of Kiteability for the photographs.

Special project with James Peel 2002
James Peel is an artist from London (UK) for whom I constructed an Aeolian kite and a copy of a 17th Century Windharp, both used in the exhibition 'Border Songs' , May 25-July 7, 2002, in the Berwick Gymnasium Art Gallery in Berwick upon Tweed , England.

Designed for indoor as well as outdoor use.

30 ft. high Aeolian piece "Wind dragon" built on site. After a midnight storm it was partly destroyed, but rebuilt in a somewhat smaller size the next day.
